Frequently Asked Questions
I have no previous experience – Is that ok?
Yes. A big percentage of our clients do not have any experience and this is where the best instructors teach you the basics – and you’ll be walking on water in no time.
Can children come as well?
Absolutely – We love to encourage families to SUP and kayak. If your child is under 15, they must be accompanied by an adult. With smaller children, we the instructors put them on our own boards and show them. Please talk to us about your needs and we will endeavor to work with you.
How fit do I have to be?
A medium level of fitness is required. Try not to be too concerned about this factor as our introduction to SUP is not a case of getting out there and trying to break any records, it’s very low impact on the body as we show you the right way. Our clients range in age from four years old to our oldest of 82 years with the biggest smile!
What if I have a medical condition?
Most medical conditions shouldn’t stop you from SUP, but please check with our instructors when you book and they will be able to let you know if you are able to SUP.
What if it’s raining?
SUP is an all-weather activity – very rarely would we have to cancel due to weather as we operate out of the calm, protected waterways of the beautiful Shingley Beach.
What if I can’t swim?
We provide you with a life jacket-PFD so being able to swim is not essential. However, it is important that you let your instructor know if you can’t swim!
What do I do with my valuables while I’m on the water?
We can lock everything away for you!
